Emory SOM Imagine, Innovate and Impact (I3) Cores Awards RFP – Due March 14

Emory SOM is soliciting proposals to use the Emory Integrated Core Facilities (EICF; full list here) to facilitate innovative research. This mechanism will provide funding support to utilize the existing services and technologies offered by the nineteen EICF cores with the goal of generating data for research projects. Faculty members from across the WHSC, including all Schools, Centers, and Institutes are encouraged to apply.

RNA Delivery Technologies to Allow Specific Tissue Target Homing (RNA-DASH) – Due April 5

This funding opportunity aims to support the development and/or pre-clinical studies of non-viral technologies to deliver RNA-based therapeutics into disease-relevant cells and tissues in vivo. Projects may focus on a single or multiple cells or tissues. Emphasis will be placed on organs, tissues and cell types that are clinically relevant but for which no effective in vivo delivery technologies are currently available.

Georgia CTSA Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design RFP – Due April 12

Georgia CTSA’s Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Research Design program is soliciting proposals to support novel methodological research in biostatistics, epidemiology, or health services research to advance clinical & translational research. Review criteria include quantitative methodological research to fill gaps, innovation, feasibility, and plans for dissemination & translation. New investigators are encouraged to apply.

Phlebotomy 101 Training – February 23 & 24

Phlebotomy 101 is a two-day introductory classroom and clinical hands-on training that teaches the techniques of venipuncture. Led by the GCRC nurses, the course is offered to Georgia-CTSA affiliated partners.

Georgia CTSA TL1 (T32-like) Training Grant Clinical and Translational Research Training - Postdoc Due March 15

The TL1 program is focused on providing innovative didactic and mentored clinical and translational research (CTR) training to individuals interested in careers that encompass CTR and clinical and translational science (CTS). The TL1 program supports predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees (medical, PharmD and PhD students; resident and fellow physicians; PhD postdocs; and PharmD residents). Emory T32 Post-Doctoral Training Program to End the HIV Epidemic – Interest Form Due April 12

The goal of this program is to train post-doctoral candidates from diverse backgrounds and disciplinary expertise in health services research, through utilization of a multidisciplinary approach to expose trainees to multiple methods and research areas, from epidemiology and biostatistics to behavioral and social sciences, biological sciences, and health policy and implementation. The program has a special emphasis on research addressing disparities or inequities based on factors such as race/ethnicity, sex/gender, socioeconomic status, geographical residence, healthcare access, and physical/mental disability. The Certificate Program in Translational Science (CPTS) is a formal 16-credit Emory Laney Graduate School program for trainees who seek to conduct research at interface between basic and translational science and clinical medicine. The CPTS enhances and transforms translational research training for predoctoral PhD students, postdoctoral fellows (PhD or MD) & junior faculty at Emory, MSM, Georgia Tech & UGA.

Georgia CTSA Clinical Research Center at Emory has established a Biorepository that includes an array of infectious disease samples. Our goal is to provide de-identified samples to investigators validating or developing diagnostics and therapeutics in an effort to improve the understanding of the effects, response, and mechanism of a variety of infectious disease samples including SARS-COV-2 and its variants. Clinical Needs and Point-of-Care Technology – Brief Survey

ACME POCT Services Accelerate Translation to Clinical Impact: How to Win a Year of Development Support for Your Microsystems Technology – February 27

The Atlanta Center for Microsystems Engineered Point-of-Care Technologies (ACME POCT) is now offering a 1-year Translation to Clinical Impact Award to select entrepreneurs, engineers, clinicians, or others interested in the invention, development, testing, and/or refinement of microsystems-based point of care devices geared toward addressing unmet clinical needs. Rare Disease Day at NIH - February 29

Rare Disease Day at NIH aims to raise awareness about rare diseases, the people they affect, and NIH collaborations that address scientific challenges and advance research for new treatments. This hybrid meeting features sessions on timely topics, such as the role of artificial intelligence in rare diseases and advances in gene therapy, as well as stories from the rare diseases community. Many of the speakers represent NCATS-supported activities, further highlighting NCATS as a home for rare disease research.
